As I mentioned in my review for Cowboy Christmas Blues, I don’t often have the funds to pay for books. But after the frustration of being on waiting lists, sometimes for months, to read the next Maisey Yates book one too many times, I finally decided it was time to start finding the extra money to purchase her books. Especially with this new series and the fact that I’m finally caught up in the Copper Ridge series.Man am I glad I didn’t wait on this one! I am in love with Luke. Like over the moon in love with that cowboy. I already knew Olivia and Bennett from a couple of the stories in the Copper Ridge series (don’t worry, you don’t need to read them to thoroughly enjoy and understand this one), and by the end of this story Luke even make me like Bennett. It’s hard to explain, so I won’t. But I was not previously a fan of Bennett’s, nor was I a fan of his through most of this book. Luke seems to have a way about him that brings out the best in those around him. He doesn’t realize he does that, and I don’t think most people realize he does it either. Yet that is the way I see things.
To be honest, in the Copper Ridge books Olivia is not a favorite of mine either. I didn’t exactly dislike her, but she did tend to annoy me. I knew there was some sort of story behind some of her actions though. This story really helped me to understand Olivia and even sympathize with her. The author did such a great job of telling Olivia’s story that I went from being annoyed with her parents to hating her parents to understanding her parents.
The thing about this story that I loved the most was the way Luke and Olivia came to realize their feelings. In many ways it seemed like insta-love, but they each quickly realized that all the years they’ve known each other there was something between them. I don’t think I’m giving anything away by saying that and I really want you to pay attention to those scenes when the characters have their awakenings. It’s different than almost any story I’ve read in that neither was going around feeling as if they had an unrequited love for the other…yet they both did. Very interesting and unique. I loved it!
Although I have a couple of months to wait for the next Maisey Yates book (which will actually a Copper Ridge Desires book), there will be three book in three months to look forward to. Woot!!!

SmoothTalking Cowboy A Cowboy Romance A Gold Valley Novel Maisey Yates 9781335006981 Books Reviews
Loved this book so much. The characters are sad and funny. Loved their story. I recommend this book to everyone who loves romance.
I love that we got a 2-fer on this. I loved both books equally. The first story may have been a bit longer, but the second story is just as good as the longer one. Both books involve broken souled cowboys who've been through more than most ever should in their childhoods, who think they aren't good enough to love. But.....they find strong-willed women who see through their rough-gruff exteriors, and prove them wrong. It's not easy getting through that rough exteriors they try to hide behind, but the women end up winning their hearts in the end.
Maisey Yates is one of my favorite authors and a true magician with words! I am as in love with Gold Valley and it’s residents as I am with Cooper Ridge! Way to go Maisey!
Loved this one. Liked the characters, which were not as full of angst and unhappiness as some in previous books. Could not put it down and didn't want to skip ahead and miss anything. Buy this one.
I have just recently found this author and I must say I am really enjoying her writing. I read a few of the Copper Ridge books so I thought I would start her new series. I love how the previous series is connected to this series. It's like a community and it just keeps building and you get to keep up with your favors from previous book. So a really good read with a HEA, just the right amount of sexy nothing too gratuitous.
This book has romance, surprises, sensitive feelings from the females, as well as the males. With some anger, hurt feelings, and embarrassing scenes thrown in. I'd recommend this book to young and older adults.
Two cowboys who lived a hard life find love with two women who see past their pain and love them for who they are.
Basically the same premise for both books. Both men carry the pain of no father in their lives and a mother who died when they were not yet adults.
Maisey Yates writes individual stories that take each couple through very emotional paths to an HEA.
I still found the whole book with two stories engaging enough stay up late to finish.
