Those Girls Sara Lawrence Books
This book was thoroughly enjoyable. I loved that the girls weren't all anorexics, and loved to eat. I don't think that the suggestion to buy the Chalet Girls with this book is a good idea, though. The two books are worlds apart, literally. I thought that the Chalet Girls was insipid and very unrealistic, while this book,Those Girls, was great! I don't see how the Chalet Girls could even be believable to a 12 or 13 yr old.

Those Girls Sara Lawrence Books Reviews
What a fun, breakout book from Sara Lawrence, with a laugh on almost every page. If this is what public school is like in the UK, then count me in for my next life. "Those Girls" know how to live it up and enjoy life! Each of the main characters is likeable and an exaggerated version of a girl we all know--or knew. I am already looking forward to the sequel... and the movie!
If you like books like Gossip Girl,The A-List or Pretty little Liars, this book is sure to please. Its takes a group of girls in a UK school and lets us watch as they claw (or attempt to anyways) their way up the social ladder. Each character is unique and im sure with each character youll find yourself saying "Oh my god shes just like....." You wont want to put it down. Get ready for a cat fight because......we all know THOSE GIRLS!
A girl named Jinx Slater goes to an all girl school called Stagmount with her best friend Liberty Latiffe. They have many outrageous adventures together like sneaking out past curfew to the city life in Brighton England or pulling pranks on Mrs. Dickinson who loathes both of the two teenagers, she wishes to expunge them from Stagmount, but the headmaster loves both of them dearly. This is why she chooses Jinx to show the new girl Stella Fox who came from another all girl school named Bedelles. At first Jinx wasn't happy about she knew how the girls were at Bedelles ditzy and trashy, but becomes elated because she can show the new girl and have the spotlight on her because she was the one who was able to show Stella around.
At first Jinx was fascinated with Stella, she was sweet and popular and fun to hang out with, but things go wrong. She becomes distant from her best friend Liberty and who becomes under Stella spell. Then she had an insight from someone from Stella old school and found out she been lying about certain things. Can she win back her best friend Liberty back and still have her social status in tact or will she just become a distant memory in Liberty past?
At first the book seemed interesting and very full of detail it kept me on my toes, then I soon found myself bored with the book, it went off topic too much for me and I found myself skipping pages that did not belong to the main point. I would recommend the book but only certain people like my younger sister who love books like this around the age around 13-15.
Jinx Slater can do no wrong at Stagmount School for Girls in Brighton, England. She can even convince her best friend Liberty Lattife's father to let Liberty remain at Stagmount for previous transgressions. The only person that Jinx can't sweet talk is the house-mistress of their dorm. But Jinx and her friends have been able to get away with tormenting her and not getting in too serious of trouble.
But after the start of term, Stella Fox, the new girl, arrives. Jinx and the rest of her friends know that Stella isn't all she seems to be. But Liberty has been trapped under her spell.
Jinx knows someone that went to Stella's old school and contacts her while home on holiday to get the scoop. Stella didn't leave her old school the way she says. Now Jinx knows that Liberty is in way over her head. But Liberty doesn't want to believe Jinx, thinking Jinx is just jealous that she has a new friend.
The story unfolds slowly with a lot of background information on their histories at Stagmount since this is the first book in the THOSE GIRLS series. But once Stella arrives, things begin to move along swiftly. Jinx and her friends form a strong bond and do everything they can to prevent Liberty from being led astray by the newcomer who isn't what she seems.
Jinx is a strong character who becomes a pit-bull to defend her friend, even if her friend doesn't think she needs her protection. Jinx is a breath of fresh air in the normal boarding school genre, where the main character is usually out to get only what she wants for herself. She's not mean to be mean, but to be protective of her friends. I look forward to the next installment to see what hijinks the girls of Stagmount can get themselves into!
